Business Travel Accident insurance

Medtronic offers Business Travel Accident (BTA) insurance to help protect you when you travel for business if you experience a need for medical or travel assistance. BTA insurance also provides you with additional life insurance coverage, up to six times your Annual Benefits Base Rate (ABBR)* to a maximum of $1,500,000.


*ABBR means base salary as of January 1, plus a 3-year average of variable pay (i.e., commissions, Medtronic Incentive Plan, etc.).

Diversity Networks and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) often begin as platforms for inclusion — to create space for employees to connect based on shared identities. But our Diversity Networks and ERGs do even more. They help model inclusion and diversity and, through unique partnerships and volunteer efforts, help amplify our impact in communities.

Family Care Leave

Family Care Leave (FCL) allows up to 6 weeks of 100% paid leave every 24 months. FCL helps support work/life flexibility and provide peace of mind. FCL makes it possible to step away from work without having to worry about your income. FCL runs concurrently with any statutory leave benefits to ensure a consistent benefit for a range of family situations.

Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is here to support you by providing no-cost confidential counseling, resources, and referrals for work, personal or family needs. These services are provided by a network of global EAP partners.

Incentive plan

In addition to your base salary, regular employees are eligible for a short-term incentive plan. Short-time incentives are based on role and targets vary by job level. Payouts vary based on Medtronic, team and individual performance and achievement of specific objectives. You will receive details about eligible incentives from your Talent Acquisition Partner.

Recognition program

Recognize! is our global platform to recognize and connect with colleagues for living the Medtronic Mindset, making a difference, and celebrating milestones and life events. Managers are able to award Recognize! Points that employees can redeem for experiences or merchandise.

Volunteer grants

Project 6

Held in the first quarter of the fiscal year (May – July), Project 6 is named in honor of Tenet 6 of the Medtronic Mission – to maintain good citizenship as a company – and is the annual kick-off to Medtronic community engagement. The Project 6 campaign aims to unite and engage Medtronic employees as one global team as they make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work through employee volunteerism and financial contributions.

Matched giving

Medtronic Foundation powers your philanthropic passions through Matched Giving. When you donate to an eligible nonprofit we will match your donation dollar for dollar, up to USD $5,000 per calendar year.

Volunteer grants

Make it easier to earn funding for causes you care about. For every 10 hours volunteered with an eligible nonprofit and recorded on the Volunteer and Giving website, you can earn $200 dollars for an eligible nonprofit of your choice. The Medtronic Foundation will donate up to $1000 USD in Volunteer Grants per calendar year to the causes you are most passionate about.
